Early childhood activities can be an absolute joy if you are an involved parent educator. Unfortunately, if you’re not into early childhood games and not willing to take the time to engage your child’s mind while they are growing, It can be difficult for both you and your child. The lack of early childhood activity can result in huge problems, some of which last a lifetime. Kids who are under-stimulated often suffer from learning problems, behavioral problems, and emotional problems. Taking the time to plan out some great early childhood activities is not only a great thing to do as a mother or father, but an investment in the life of your family and your child.

The great thing about early childhood education activity is that it includes almost every game you play with your child. You see, for a child, play is work. The best early childhood activities are designed not only to entertain children, but also to stimulate their growing minds. Every early childhood activity recommended by educators, whether it is storytelling, playing with bricks and blocks, or team building games, teaches the child an important skill. One early childhood activity might help them to understand how to play with others. Another one might help them to understand how different shapes go together, and thus to improve their spacial reasoning skills.

There are all kinds of experts on early childhood activity, and they all have different opinions. My advice to you as someone who has raised three children myself is to see what your children like. It is very easy to get caught up in set early childhood games, but the fact is that every child is different and will like different early childhood activities. Some of them like very spatial activities. Other ones like to do a more imaginative early childhood activity, such as make-believe or storytelling.

Some parents try to expose their kids to every single early childhood activity that they can get their hands on, but I don’t think this is the right approach. The important thing is to keep your child intellectually stimulated and engaged. If they are given interesting early childhood activities, they will begin to learn on their own. Letting them choose the early childhood activity allows them to start making decisions at an early age, which is the first step towards teaching them responsibility and independence. There is no better way to work on early childhood development than that!

Abnormal Psychology is filled with small diagrams of the brain that illustrate the structures that are affected or influenced by the abnormalities. Each and every disorder involves a particular structure in the brain. These diagrams help the students to understand the each and every part of the brain and find out the areas that are related with the psychological disorders. Abnormal Psychology also includes a section ‘Extraordinary People’ where the life of the people who live with psychological disorder is featured. Readers are able to understand how the people with mental disorder live and what the consequences are. The empirical research sections include the studies of the famous researchers with the illustrations (about where the field is proceeding). The fourth edition also includes information on repetitive transcrannial magnetic stimulation. Apart from this there are discussions about gender and culture and its relation with the frequency and type of the mental disorders. The new edition also includes various debates and studies, for example the debate about the influence of culture in the diagnosis of psychological disorders.

Abnormal Psychology also includes the ‘voices’ section in all chapters that contains subjective accounts or testimonies from people who suffer from psychological disorders. For example the autobiography of the psychologist Kay Redfield Jamison (who is under bipolar disorder). These testimonials help the students to have a better understanding of the signs and symptoms and the real effect of psychological disorders in the lives of people. Moreover there are ‘Taking Psychology Personally’ sections where the personal concerns (brought by the students) about abnormal psychology are included. The book also includes various practical approaches and techniques (for example how to search for a better therapist and how to take care of a loved one who suffer from mental disorder). Apart from this, there are case studies that explain the symptoms and treatment details of real time cases. Students are also benefited with the clinical context of abnormal psychology in the book. The book also includes wonderful learning tools that help the readers to catch the important information in the entire text, for example the DSM-IV-TR Tables. There are also the ‘Concept Overviews’ that are the summaries of the key material in the form of figures and tables. This constitutes a visual summary of the entire text. Another unique feature of the book is the ‘FacesInteractive’ section which is a web-based which helps the readers to evaluate the real patients.

Self Improvement:When your looking to improve yourself in the best possible way ever.

You ever have to deal with something or someone that would force you to improve yourself? Well, it is so real because in life, things happen for a reason. You just have to find out what that reason is and sometimes we’re forced to deal with certain obstacles in life that would force us to self improve ourselves. Most people have low self-esteem to a point where they want to kill themselves or just plain let themselves go altogether without a care in the world whatsoever. I once had a friend who told me that she was sad all the time and Wanted to kill herself. I felt very sad for her and kindly told her that everything was going to be just fine. She didn’t quite understand when I told her this and I kindly told her that the point that I’m getting to is that in life, you’ll have to face certain obstacles some good and some bad. But when the road gets rocky and you feel beaten down and you feel like the world is coming to an end. You’ll need to look over that particular obstacle and still go on because life goes on and you sure can’t turn back time, but what you can do is change any situation around for the better, and self improve yourself.

Ways to self-improve yourself:

-Read spirituality books such as: Self Improvement

-Exercise your body, mind, and soul

-Find a hobby

-Eat right and get enough rest

-Build up self-esteem

-If you’re not happy with the way you look, you should get a make-over

-Do things to keep you occupied

-Weigh out the positive and the negatives

(meaning the pros and the cons)

-Look beyond the past and focus on the future:

-Surround yourself with positive people that can lift your spirits and rid yourself from all the negative energy that’s keeping you from moving on and living your life.

And last but not least:

-Always believe in god because prayer works.

Know this:

Time can’t ever be replaced, but you can replace things that will help you self-improve your life.

In order to self-improve yourself, you should have faith in your life into bettering yourself. When you self-improve you are actually overcoming things that happened in your lifetime that really beat you down in the worst way, and caused you to bounce back and help you get yourself together. This is usually called self-recovery!

One can’t remain sane unless he/she has positive friends to lift your spirits and make you feel good about yourself. But most importantly, you should believe in yourself and build up self-esteem.

Remember: If you don’t think highly of yourself, then nobody else will. Never worry about anyone but yourself except family and close friends.

Because in life, when we fall down we must pick ourselves back up.

VIP:

Self Improvement can come a long way especially if you’re willing to improve yourself in the best possible way ever.

ex: education and employment

-You can always self-improve when it comes to education because remember some education is better than none because a lot of doors can open for you allowing you to go far and definitely with employment because some money is better than no money and you can get a lot of things done with cash in your pocket. you can never be too happy if you’re broke all the time.

Education was once the foundation of American society. To advance in life, one saw receiving a quality education as the ticket to the middle-class and a comfortable life. However, over time Americans began placing less emphasis on education. The public school system began to suffer and the achievement gap between American children and their foreign counterparts widened.

Both Barack Obama and John McCain emphasize education reform in their platform, but whose plan benefits you and your children the most?

McCain believes the key to education reform is the ability of parents to choose which schools their children attend, similar to his colleagues in Congress who are able to send their children to the best private schools in their area. The Republican nominee equates equal education to equal access to the best education. According to his website, “John McCain will fight for the ability of all students to have access to all schools of demonstrated excellence, including their own homes.”

The Arizona senator wants to encourage competition among schools to be the most innovative and flexible, and compete for the best teachers and administrators.

Furthermore, McCain believes that financial assistance must be based on a parent’s desire to relocate their child to the best school available.

However, Obama sees teacher retention and affordable higher learning as the key to education reform. According to his website, thirty percent of schoolteachers leave the field of education within their first five years. In addition, the cost of a college education has grown by forty percent in the last five years.

Obama and running mate Joe Biden’s plan for education reform includes the Zero to Five Plan, reforming No Child Left Behind and supporting college credit initiatives.

The Zero to Five Plan will not only place emphasis on early childhood education but also early care and education for infants, which they see as paramount in preparing a child for kindergarten. The senator from Illinois will quadruple Head Start, increasing its funding and improving its quality. In addition, he wants to make high-quality child care affordable for working-class families.

Obama believes the problem with the much-maligned No Child Left Behind program was a lack of funds for the law. He will fund the law, but not force teachers to spend an entire year preparing for a standardized test, but instead will find other tools to assess a student’s achievement and readiness for higher education. He plans to support the formation of more high-performing charter schools by doubling the funding of the Federal Charter School Program, while closing low-performing existing charter schools.

The Democratic nominee wants to make math and science a national priority by recruiting college graduates with math and science degrees and supporting efforts to team teachers with professionals in the fields of math and science. In an effort to retain teachers, he would allow a mentoring program that would team young teachers with experienced teachers.

Another key to Obama’s education reform plan is his “Make College a Reality” initiative, which will increase advance placement courses in high school and implement a new American Opportunity Tax Credit, which will ensure that the first $4,000 of college tuition is completely free for most Americans. According to his website, “Recipients of the credit will be required to conduct 100 hours of community service.”

Consequently, whether it is McCain or Obama in the White House in January 2009, both candidates are determined to make education the foundation of American advancement once again.
